💡 Let There Be Light: Hacking the Winter Solstice

It’s been six months since our newest flock hit their "Point-of-Lay," and they are producing wonderfully. However, early this year, the shorter winter days tried to slow down their natural laying rhythms.

But in true Punto Pio fashion, we applied a little tech to nature: supplemental lighting. By gently extending their daylight hours, we stimulated their natural production cycles. It’s a bright idea that keeps our farm running and your egg cartons full!

He is incredibly docile, calm, and strictly stays within his perimeter. Bernard isn't just a good boy; he is a true farm hero.

Ay bendito. We always promise you "truth with charm," so here is the truth: The Caliber finally made it OUT of the farm... and ran for exactly two weeks before throwing a new batch of errors. We're officially a bit concerned. (If any PIOneers know someone trying to get rid of a reliable used car, please let us know! We will put it to good use.)

But here is the charm: Our incredible community never lets us down. A massive shoutout to PIOneer Jack, who generously lent us his Volvo SUV while he’s off-island. Apoyo local isn't just about buying eggs; it's about a community that truly wants to see local agriculture succeed. Jack, you are an absolute lifesaver!

We’ve been taking the Punto Pio experience on the road! You can now find us participating in El Mercado Miramar and the Noches de Barrio bazaar. We’ve been bringing a few of our feathered friends along to spread the joy, including the famous, ultra-fluffy Mr. Posha and his chicks.

It was heartwarming to see that members of the community have adopted our fluffy chickens! We invite you to visit us and meet the flock in person, it's always a highlight of our week.

Farming in Puerto Rico is a constant dance with nature. Right now, our current terrain is proving to be a bit too humidity-heavy for our long-term vision. But no nos quitamos. We are currently in promising talks with the Autoridad de Tierras to help us find a new, drier plot of land. We’ll keep you updated as this new chapter unfolds! Does anyone have two cuerdas by any chance?
